ACCOUNTING – Bookkeeping to Trial Balance (ICB)

This is the SECOND module for the National Certificate, Bookkeeping, SAQA ID 58375. Discover the meaning of basic bookkeeping and accounting terminology and concepts that will form the foundation for further studies in this field. You will learn the concept of Value Added Tax (VAT) and look at the rules and regulations with respect to VAT in South Africa. Understand the working of journals, general ledgers and trial balances. You will be introduced to Cash journals, debtors accounts and creditors accounts. The final area covered will be all the different reconciliations that are required in bookkeeping. This course is ideal for students looking at a Junior Bookkeeping Qualification. This programme will provide the skills required to be an Accounts Clerk, Creditors Clerk and/or Debtors Clerk functions.

  • Record cash transactions
  • Record credit and sundry transactions
  • Understand Inventory systems
  • Understand Debtors and Creditors
  • Complete the bank reconciliation process
  • Reconcile suppliers statements

 

Student should have completed ICB Business Literacy before starting this course. There is an exam through ICB required for this course.
